Local Teen Donated Her Wish to the Greater Good
In 2021 Maria, of Inlet, NY, was granted a Wish through Make-A-Wish Northeast New York. Instead of using her wish for herself, Maria decided to do something a little different, she decided to donate her wish back to her local NENY community.
Maria chose to use her Wish as a Give Back Wish and has used the money to create a fund with the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York to help people with epilepsy. Individuals with epilepsy may apply for funds to support travel outside the area to epilepsy specialists. This fund will assist with mileage, an overnight hotel, and meals. Receipts are required for reimbursement.

Adirondack Foundation North Country Medical Travel Reimbursement
The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York is pleased to offer a reimbursement fund to individuals who live in the North Country and must travel a distance from home to seek medical care and/or treatment for their family member who has epilepsy, and lack adequate financial resources for the cost of this travel. Families may request up to a maximum of $1,000 annually. Grants will be reviewed by a committee, and money will be awarded following these meetings. This fund was made possible by a partnership with the Adirondack Foundation.
