The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, Inc. recently named the recipients of five college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

These scholarships are awarded to students currently being treated for epilepsy who plan to further their education. Eligible recipients must reside in one of twenty-two counties served by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York.

Congratulations to the following recipients:

The Nick Birchak Strength of Character College Scholarship ($1,000) and

The Stephen Piorkowski Scholarship of ($500) – awarded to Madison Dillon of Schenectady who will attend Schenectady County Community College to study biology and chemistry.

The Barbara Quackenbush College Scholarship ($1,000)– awarded to Madeline Tursky of Mineville who will attend SUNY Canton to study forensic criminology.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York Scholarship ($1,000) – awarded to Sarah Hayes of Delmar who will attend Binghamton University to major in business.

The Kevin and Cindy Volk Scholarship ($500) – awarded to Shae Arsenault of Tupper Lake who will attend SUNY Canton to study criminal justice/ law enforcement.

The Kevin and Cindy Volk Scholarship ($500) – awarded to Lauren Mihaly of Gansevoort who will attend Worcester State University and plans to study psychology.
