As the year comes to a close, the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York (EFNENY) invites you to participate in the 2024 ” EFNENY Days of Giving.” This special fundraising initiative is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with epilepsy while spreading holiday cheer in a variety of ways! 

Here’s how you can get involved and support our mission during this season of giving. 

Every dollar you contribute brings us one step closer to finding a cure and improving the lives of those affected by epilepsy. Your donation, no matter the size, makes a powerful impact. Here’s how your generosity can help: 

  • $10 Donation: Provides a newly diagnosed family with vital information to better understand their diagnosis. 
  • $26 Donation: Covers transportation costs for a consumer to attend a medical appointment. 
  • $50 Donation: Offers additional support to a family impacted by epilepsy during the holiday season, adding magic to their celebrations. 
  • $100 Donation: Funds social gatherings for individuals with epilepsy, ensuring no one faces epilepsy alone. 
  • $250 Donation: Sends a child with epilepsy to summer camp, creating lasting memories and an unforgettable experience. 
  • CLYNK:   How CLYNK helps EFNENY: Organizations like EFNENY can distribute tagged bags to our supporters and ask them to fill those bags with returnable bottles and drop them at participating Hannaford locations on our behalf. You can leverage CLYNK’s online fundraising options whereby CLYNK customers can donate some or all of their deposit balance directly into EFNENY’s CLYNK to Give account. Call our office at (518)456-7501 to receive your specially tagged bags to collect your returnable bottles and cans! 
  • Holiday Gift Card Drive: If you are interested in donating gift cards to our families in need, we would greatly appreciate physical gift cards or digital e- gift cards for:

Join our dedicated team of volunteers who are essential in organizing events, raising awareness, and providing support to our community. Your time and energy can make a world of difference. 

Help us educate others by sharing information about epilepsy and the work of the Epilepsy Foundation. Use social media, community events, or any platform available to spread knowledge and understanding. 

Host an event or create an online campaign to rally your friends, family, and colleagues to support the cause. Whether it’s a bake sale, a virtual walk/ run, or a creative idea of your own, your efforts can bring positive change. 

Facebook Fundraisers:  Celebrate your birthday (or anniversary, wedding, etc.) by taking steps toward a brighter future. Consider creating a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser to benefit EFNENY! 

2025 is right around the corner which means another year full of awesome events! Here are some dates to mark on your 2025 calendar! 

  • March 26- Purple Day 2025! 

Understanding the significance of your contribution is vital. Here’s how donations aid our community: 

  • 1 in 10 individuals will experience a seizure in their lifetime. Your support provides crucial resources for those newly diagnosed. 
  • 1 in 26 individuals have epilepsy. Your donations facilitate essential services and support for them. 
  • 100% of funds donated to EFNENY directly help individuals in Northeastern New York, ensuring your generosity has a local impact. 

The holiday season is a time for generosity and compassion. By contributing to EFNENY, you can help create joyful moments for families and individuals affected by epilepsy. Whether through a donation, volunteering, or raising awareness, every action counts.

Donations support education and advocacy programs that CARE for people living with epilepsy in our community. They will also support research toward a CURE for individuals living with intractable seizures that cannot be controlled by the medications, devices, and surgeries available today. Finally, it will help us spread AWARENESS to the community and the thousands of individuals in northeastern New York who have yet to find the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York. 

  • Responded to over 1,000 requests for information about epilepsy and seizures. 
  • Presented seizure recognition and first aid training to 938 professionals. 
  • Educated 1,146 students through our School Alert program. 
  • Awarded college scholarships totaling $4,500 
  • Supported 64 consumers with our counseling, support groups and art therapy program. 
  • Assisted 33 individuals who not only have epilepsy, but also a traumatic brain injury (TBI) through our service coordination programs.  
  • Awarded camp scholarships to 21 children with epilepsy. 

Continued with our Seizure First Aid Certification Program on the first Wednesday of every month, certifying 73 people over the course of the year.
