Mia Costa joined the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York (EFNENY) team in September 2025 as the Marketing & Communications Intern.   

Mia is currently in her 2nd year at the University at Albany and is majoring in Communications with a dual minor in business and journalism. She is set to graduate in May 2027.   

Drawn to EFNENY’s passion and commitment to improving the lives of those affected by epilepsy, Mia felt a strong connection to the organization’s mission. She was eager to contribute by supporting education and advocacy efforts through the power of marketing and communications. Before joining the team, Mia was impressed by the free resources EFNENY provides to individuals living with epilepsy across Northeastern New York.  

When asked about her favorite aspect of the internship, Mia shared, “The employees are incredibly welcoming and educated about Epilepsy.” She especially enjoys building relationships with the dedicated team behind EFNENY’s impactful work. 

Looking ahead, Mia hopes to continue gaining experience in marketing and communications across a variety of industries, further developing her skills and passion for meaningful outreach.
