January 1 in 26- Ada Yesupriya

Meet Ada Indira Yesupriya, one of EFNENY’s 2026 Winning Kids! Diagnosed with epilepsy at age five, Ada is now two and a half years seizure-free and has not let her epilepsy slow her down. A bright and enthusiastic second grader who loves school, learning, and recently celebrated a personal milestone, performing a solo in her winter concert!

She has continued to dream big and shared her hope of one day becoming a chef, teacher, pediatrician, inventor, and a mom.

In her eight years, Ada has already overcome so much. From navigating challenges in her school life as an elementary schooler, including maintaining a neat and tidy cubby to learning how to stay safe with her epilepsy diagnosis, she continues to show remarkable resilience.

In addition to managing the day‑to‑day hurdles of her diagnosis, Ada has also adapted to a strict daily medication regimen for her seizures, an impressive responsibility for someone her age. Her message to children newly diagnosed with epilepsy reflects her strength and optimism: “It can be hard sometimes, but you will be OK!”

Ada is also an active member of the local epilepsy community through her involvement in Kids Crew, demonstrating a commitment to advocacy and connection beyond her school environment.

What Ada Wishes Others to Know About Epilepsy:

“Your family and doctors are there to help you. It’s fun to go to the neurologist!”
