January 1 in 26- Meet Khrystian Benoit

We are excited to introduce one of our new 2024 Winning Kids, Khrystian Benoit.

The day after Khrystian Benoit and his family celebrated their 3rd Thanksgiving together, their lives were altered due to a new diagnosis. Khrystian had suffered his first ever seizure.

Now, at eleven years old, after thirteen trials with different medications, many days of reoccurring seizures and more than ten hospital stays, Khrystian has persevered throughout it all and can officially say that he is seizure free as of May 2023!

With his epilepsy controlled by medication and a VNS device, Khrystian plays his favorite sports and pursues various hobbies. Khrystian especially enjoys spending time playing video games and learning the basics of both basketball and tennis. He also loves dancing, doing Nerf battles with his Grammy, cooking, baking, and spending time with his family.

Khrystian works to spread epilepsy awareness by attending EFNENY hosted Kids Crew events throughout the year. Additionally, he has fundraised and spread awareness by participating in a fundraiser for Purple Day ®, a National Day of Awareness and recognition in the epilepsy community, at his school.

Khrystian’s resilience, along with his devotion to Kids Crew and EFNENY led to his selection as one of our two Winning Kids for 2024. Khrystian will be honored at our 36th Anniversary Confections in Chocolate Gala for Hope this April. He will be recognized at the Gala alongside his Co-Winning Kid, Liam Fusco, on April 20th at Old Daley on Crooked Lake in Averill Park.
